Tuna Fish & Peas and Carrots: Simple Choices. Doesn’t require a lot of thought.

Many years ago, Ashlyn and Kayla, my two 23 year old granddaughters (not twins). along with their parents and siblings, would spend Sunday afternoons with us after church. They always enjoyed taking a sweet treat home with them. One particular afternoon, the girls who were around 4 at the time surprised us. They were both in my pantry trying to decide which canned good to take home as their treat. Ashlyn chose Tuna and Kayla took the peas & carrots.

Choices for 4 year old girls were so easy. They loved dressing up in grown up clothes, playing with dolls, coloring and using glitter or just making up games. As I have watched them grow up, choices have become much more serious and important; choices that can affect their future. Choosing the right friends, dating, learning to handle finances, college, career, etc.; choices that can be life changing. Choices that can mean broken hearts, betrayal, debt, forgiving, living and learning. it’s all part of growing up,

That is why Proverbs 3:5&6 has to be a life theme.

(By the way, Ashlyn doesn’t like tuna any more and Kayla won’t touch peas and carrots!!)
